First Aid CPR (Online Course)

This is an online First Aid Course. The cost is $40, which will come off your paycheck if you are an active staff with biweekly pay. If you are a full-time staff and you complete your training before your last one expires, FCI will pay for half of your course.

How to get the form

To request a Child Intervention Record Check application form, you must email your regional office (emails listed below) and ask for the form to be sent to you.

  • Once you have completed the form, email it to your regional Children’s Services office.

  • By filling in and providing your consent on the form, you declare you are applying to work directly with children for the named organization.

Trauma Training Initiative (Online)

The TIC e-Learning Series consists of seven (7) foundational self-study modules, each of which can be completed in approximately 30 minutes or less. The modules have been designed for a broad audience, including those providing Addiction & Mental Health treatment services. The content has been developed using evidence-informed best practices and is organized sequentially to create a seamless, flowing learning experience; the modules should be taken in order.

Food is Our Medicine was designed to introduce healthcare professionals and leaders to new and different ways of understanding the complex relationships between Indigenous foodways, reconciliation, healing, and health care.

The Food is Our Medicine Learning Journey is designed to deepen your relationship with history, food, land, and, ultimately, yourself.

You will have opportunities to learn and reflect on (de)colonization, the perspectives, cultures, and foodways of various Indigenous communities, and steps you can take toward honouring Indigenous worldviews in health care. Worker Health and Safety Awareness - ACCESS TRAINING HERE

The Occupational health and safety awareness training provides a basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and does not replace any sector-specific, hazard-specific, or competency-specific training.

This training introduces workers to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. It focuses on the health and safety rights and responsibilities of workers, supervisors, and employers and serves as a general introduction to workplace health and safety.

Workers can use this free training program to meet the minimum training required by the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training regulation.

Opioid Poisoning First Aid (Online Course)

ACCESS TRAINING HERE - First Aid for Opioid Poisoning Emergencies | Canadian Red Cross

Course Overview

In the First Aid for Opioid Poisoning Emergencies Course, you will become knowledgeable and confident in how to respond to an opioid poisoning emergency, including how to administer intranasal and intramuscular naloxone. You will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of opioid poisoning, what naloxone is and how naloxone works to reverse an opioid poisoning. This free training will show you how opioids affect the body and explore ways to reduce the influence of stigma around opioid poisoning. 

This course is designed for:  Anyone 16 years of age and older who wants to learn first aid skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize and respond to an opioid poisoning emergency.

This free course has no prerequisites, and it is an online self-directed course, meaning you learn at your own pace by working through the training materials independently online. Duration: approximately 60 minutes, depending on the individual.
