FSCD Community Support Staff 

Details:
The Community Disability Support Worker is the front-line position of a support team. They work most directly with individuals with disabilities. They are part of a team that ensures individuals have quality of life in areas including: daily living, recreation and leisure and community inclusion.

In your role you will:
· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities, complex and challenging behaviours
· Building meaningful relationships with client and the community
· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals
· Evaluating the needs of clients
· Act as an advocate for individuals when needed
· Completion of daily documentation
· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities
· Recreational: assist individuals to discover and participate in leisure time activities.
· Provide support and assisting clients in the development of healthy life and social skills
· Participate in on-going program development

Education: 
· Minimum of a high school diploma
· Two (2) years experience working within the Human Services field

Training & Clearances (*Available from Family Connections Inc. at no cost to the employee)
· Security Clearance Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 6 months)· Children Services Intervention Record Check (within the last 6 months)
· Standard First Aid with CPR
· * Suicide Awareness or Suicide Intervention training
· * Cultural Awareness training
· * Medication administration training
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license, as well as a driver’s abstract (within the last 6 months)
· Auto Insurance, including $1 million third party liability coverage
· Strong English skills is required

Required experience:
· We are looking for someone who is patient, kind, trustworthy, mature, understanding, caring and a good communicator and leader.
· Directly supporting individuals with disabilities, complex and challenging behaviours
· Experience working with youth aged 12-24 in a residential and group home setting is an asset

Salary:
$15.00 to $20.00 Hourly for 20 hours per week depending on education and experience.

Complex-needs Community Support Worker

Details:
We are looking to hire employees to work a combination of shifts, evenings, weekends and overnights.These shifts are on various days of the week- we are looking for individuals with flexible availability who are willing to work weekends.

In your role you will:
· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with complex and challenging behaviours
· Building meaningful relationships with clients and the community
· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals
· Evaluating the needs of clients
· Oversee and coordinate all aspects of case management; including support plan development and implementation
· Completion of daily documentation
· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities
· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home
· Providing support and assisting clients in the development of healthy life and social skills
· Participate in on-going program development

Education: 
· One (1) year towards completion of a Degree or Diploma in Disabilities Studies or the Human Services field
· Two (2) years experience working within the Human Services field

· Experience with Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset.

$15.00 to $20.00 Hourly for 20-40 hours per week depending on education and experience.
